i love reno not because of the beautiful mountains or the amazing snow but the people! natalie and i have been so lucky to be in community with such amazing people. we have received nothing but encouragement and support here. we are blessed!
i just returned home from a friend of mines house where i was able to listen to a live recorded concert i did back on december 5th 2008. it came out great. my friend dennis clifton who is also a singer songwriter aka stoneshadows.com
had an idea months ago to do a live recording. after a couple brainstorming sessions we asked our church hillside foursquare reno and they opened their doors.
honestly it was an incredible night. i was like a big reunion. it was a great night to remember. our prayer going into the night was to capture the emotion behind the songs and the energy of the room. dennis did it with flying colors.
long story short: i have not released an album since 2006. i been paying off the debt of that album so i didn’t figure going into more debt doing another album. so i’ve been trying to scrape by. well, now because of the support of my community i’m now going to have a live recorded album. Praise be to God who has worked out all the details and is still working them out.
at the merchandise table after shows i always get asked the question,” so what cd sounds most like what i just heard.” because i’ve been playing solo the last couple years “downtown perspective” is the closest thing to me live with my guitar, but now we’ve got it.
i’m thinking the new album will be called :
chris heifner live at hillside
because of the debt i will only make a couple copies, but it will be available on the internet, itunes, cdbaby within the next couple months.
well, for all of you that believe in the music i’m writing and recording please share it with friends. thanks for checking in.
sincerely
chris
